Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp salt

1 cup warm whole milk (110°F)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)

1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)

2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

    - In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, instant yeast, granulated sugar, and salt. Mix until well combined.

      - In a separate bowl, whisk together warm milk, melted butter, and eggs until fully incorporated.

        - Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until combined.

          - Slowly add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a sticky dough forms.

            Knead the Dough:

              - Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

                - Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, covering it with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size, roughly 1 hour.

                  Prepare the Filling:

                    - In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

                      - After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 16x12 inches.

                        - Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture uniformly over the top.

                          Roll and Slice:

                            - Starting from the long side of the rectangle, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log.

                              - Pinch the seam to seal and cut into 12 equal slices (about 1.5 inches each).

                                - Place the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover again with a kitchen towel and let rise for another 30 minutes.

                                  Bake:

                                    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

                                      Prepare the Frosting:

                                        - While the rolls are baking, combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Mix until smooth and creamy.

                                          Frost the Rolls:

                                            - Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool for about 10 minutes. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls.

                                              Serve:

                                                - Serve warm and enjoy the ooey-gooey goodness of your homemade cinnamon rolls!
