Ingredients

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

Salt and pepper, to taste

½ cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ cup orange juice (freshly squeezed if possible)

Zest of 1 orange

¼ cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece of ginger, grated

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Oil for frying

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. In a bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss the chicken in this mixture until well-coated.

Make the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger until combined. Set aside.

Fry the Chicken: In a large skillet or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces in batches, avoiding overcrowding and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken and let it rest on a paper towel-lined plate to soak up excess oil.

Combine Chicken and Sauce: Drain excess oil from the skillet, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Pour the orange sauce into the skillet, bringing it to a simmer. Let it cook for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Toss and Serve: Add the fried chicken back into the skillet, tossing it in the sauce to coat evenly. Allow it to heat through for another 2 minutes.

Garnish and Enjoy: Serve the orange chicken hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top. Pair it with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
