Ingredients

1 lb (450g) fresh cremini or button mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar for extra flavor

Instructions

Prepare the Mushrooms: Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt. Trim the stems if necessary and leave them whole for maximum flavor and presentation.

Melt Butter: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it’s bubbling but not browned.

Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the melted butter, stirring constantly for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not burnt.

Cook the Mushrooms: Add the mushrooms to the skillet in a single layer. Increase the heat to medium-high and cook for 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are browned and have released most of their moisture.

Season: Add the thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. If using, add the balsamic vinegar for an extra depth of flavor. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Finish with Parsley: Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley. Adjust the seasoning as needed with more salt and pepper.

Serve: Transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish and drizzle any remaining garlic butter sauce from the skillet over the top. Enjoy warm as a side dish or appetizer!
