Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup whole milk

1 large egg

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Oil for frying

For the Maple Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Start by combining the dry ingredients: in a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until well blended.

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to ensure a light texture.

Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). You will need about 2-3 inches of oil for frying.

Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, form the dough into small balls (about 1-inch in diameter) and carefully drop them into the hot oil, a few at a time, to avoid overcrowding.

Fry the donut holes for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown. Once cooked, transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.

While the donut holes are still warm, dip each one into the maple glaze, allowing any excess to drip off. Place them on a wire rack to set for a few minutes.

Serve warm and enjoy the delightful sweetness of your homemade Maple-Glazed Donut Holes.
