King's Hawaiian Cheesecake Danish by Call Me PMc

A delightful twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

Danish Dough:

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cheesecake Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Topping:

1/2 cup diced fresh pineapple

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon butter, melted

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional for drizzling)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Lay them out on the prepared baking sheet, slightly overlapping each triangle to form a rectangular shape.

Make the Cheesecake Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and almond extract. Beat with an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Assemble the Danish: Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small margin around the edges. Sprinkle the diced pineapple on top of the cheesecake filling.

Fold and Shape: Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to create a border, pinching the corners and seams to secure the shape. Brush the edges with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon for an added touch.

Bake: Place the danish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and the filling is set.

Drizzle and Serve: Once cooled slightly, drizzle honey or maple syrup on top if desired. Slice into pieces and serve warm or at room temperature.
