Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

1 cup finely chopped walnuts or hazelnuts

1 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

Mix Wet Ingredients: Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Add in the finely chopped nuts and stir until evenly distributed.

Shape the Cookies: Use your hands to take small portions of the dough (about 1 tablespoon) and roll them into logs about 3 inches long. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each roll.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Dust with Sugar: Once fully cooled, dust the cookies with powdered sugar for an elegant finish.
