Ingredients

6 buttery croissants, torn into pieces

8 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup diced cooked ham or cooked bacon (optional)

1/2 cup diced bell peppers (red, green, yellow)

1/4 cup green onions, sliced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. Set aside.

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the torn croissant pieces evenly across the bottom.

If using, scatter the diced ham or cooked bacon, bell peppers, and green onions over the croissant pieces.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant and filling mixture in the baking dish, making sure to soak all the croissant pieces.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the casserole.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the egg is set and the top is golden brown.

Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
