Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts)

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and salt until the mixture resembles wet sand.

Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Make sure to pack it down tightly.

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until it’s lightly golden.

Remove the crust from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped pecans over the top.

Drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the chocolate and nut layer.

Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the topping is bubbly and slightly browned.

Allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before lifting out and cutting into squares.

For best results, let the bars chill in the fridge for an hour before serving to enhance the texture and flavors.
