Ingredients

1.5 lbs flank steak, sliced thin against the grain

3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 cup beef broth

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

1/4 cup oyster sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, minced

2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Cooked white or brown rice, for serving

Sesame seeds and green onions, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Beef: Start by slicing the flank steak against the grain into thin strips. This helps make the meat tender.

Mix the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. This will serve as the sauce for your dish.

Combine in Slow Cooker: Place the sliced beef in the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over it. Stir to ensure all the beef is coated.

Cooking Time: Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. If using frozen broccoli, add it to the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking. If using fresh, add it in the last 1 hour.

Thickening the Sauce: Once the cooking time is complete, stir in the cornstarch and water mixture to thicken the sauce. Let it cook for an additional 15-20 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

Serve: Serve the beef and broccoli hot over a bed of cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for an extra touch.
