Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Gruyère cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

1 tbsp lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Red pepper flakes (optional, for a kick)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant (do not let it brown). Add the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink. Remove from heat and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, lemon juice, half of the Gruyère cheese, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Mix until well combined, then gently fold in the sautéed shrimp and chopped parsley.

Assemble the Gratin: Pour the shrimp mixture into a greased gratin dish. Sprinkle the remaining Gruyère cheese and Parmesan cheese evenly on top. Lastly, sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the cheese layer for a crunchy topping.

Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot with crusty bread or over a bed of rice.
