Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well incorporated.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix.

Add Chocolate & Nuts: Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.

Cool and Slice: Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, cut into squares or bars and enjoy!
