Ingredients

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and diced

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 package of wonton wrappers

1 egg, beaten (for sealing)

Oil for frying

Extra powdered sugar for dusting

Strawberry sauce (for drizzling, optional)

Instructions

In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in the diced strawberries gently.

Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the strawberry cheesecake filling in the center of the wrapper.

Brush the edges of the wonton wrapper with the beaten egg to help seal it. Fold the wrapper over to create a triangle shape and press the edges together to seal tightly. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

In a deep pot or pan, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully drop a few wonton bites into the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried wontons and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Dust the warm wonton bites with extra powdered sugar and drizzle with strawberry sauce if desired. Serve them warm for the best flavor.
