Ingredients

1 pound gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon sugar

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

4 ounces fresh burrata cheese

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Gnocchi: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the gnocchi according to package instructions until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, but not browned.

Add Tomatoes and Cream: Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir in the heavy cream. Mix until well combined.

Season the Sauce: Add sugar, salt, black pepper, dried basil, and oregano. Let the sauce simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.

Combine with Gnocchi: Gently fold the cooked gnocchi into the sauce, ensuring all the pieces are coated. Allow it to warm through for a couple of minutes.

Finish with Cheese: Once heated, remove from the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese for added creaminess.

Plate the Dish: Divide the creamy tomato gnocchi among serving plates and top each with pieces of fresh burrata.

Garnish and Serve: Drizzle with a little olive oil, and scatter fresh basil leaves on top. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!
