Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon baking powder

Vegetable oil (for frying)

1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Chocolate sauce or caramel sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a medium saucepan, combine water, milk, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour and baking powder until well combined. Let it cool for about 5 minutes.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add one egg at a time to the cooled mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until the dough is smooth and slightly sticky.

Heat the Oil: In a deep frying pan or Dutch oven, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 360°F (180°C). To test if the oil is ready, drop a small piece of the dough in; it should bubble and rise to the surface.

Shape the Poppers: Using a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, pipe small balls (about 1-inch in diameter) of dough directly into the hot oil. Fry a few at a time, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry Until Golden: Fry the churro poppers for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and puffed. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

Coat the Poppers: In a shallow plate, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Roll the warm churro poppers in this mixture until thoroughly coated.

Serve: Serve the churro poppers warm with chocolate sauce or caramel sauce for dipping.
