Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup buttermilk

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1/4 cup butter, melted (for brushing)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk them together until fully incorporated.

Add cold butter: Add the cubed, cold butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Incorporate cheese and herbs: Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley until evenly distributed.

Make the dough: Gradually pour in the buttermilk, mixing gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it’s okay if the dough is slightly sticky.

Shape the biscuit bombs: On a floured surface, turn out the dough and gently knead it a few times. Roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2-inch thick. Cut the dough into squares (about 3x3 inches).

Fill with cheese: Place a small mound of shredded cheese in the center of each square. Fold the corners of the dough over the cheese to create a sealed ball. Pinch the seams together to ensure they don’t open during baking.

Prepare for baking: Arrange the stuffed balls on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.

Brush and season: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder, dried oregano, and freshly cracked black pepper. Brush this mixture over the tops of the biscuit bombs for added flavor.

Bake: Bake for 15-18 minutes in the preheated oven until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serve warm: Once done, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy, garlicky goodness!
