Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup dill pickles, finely chopped

2 tbsp ketchup

1 tbsp mustard

Salt and pepper, to taste

10 egg roll wrappers

Vegetable oil, for frying

Optional: sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.

Add chopped onions and garlic, and sauté until the onions are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese, dill pickles, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.

Lay out an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, with one corner facing you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture near the corner closest to you.

Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly to enclose the filling. Moisten the top corner with a bit of water to seal the roll. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat. Once the oil reaches 350°F (175°C), carefully add a few egg rolls at a time.

Fry the egg rolls for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Optional: Sprinkle sesame seeds on top while they’re still hot for added crunch and flavor.

Serve warm with additional ketchup and mustard for dipping.
