Ingredients

6 large croissants

6 oz (170g) sliced ham (preferably honey or smoked)

6 oz (170g) sliced cheese (Swiss, Gruyère, or your favorite cheese)

2 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tbsp honey (optional)

1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream

1/4 cup (60ml) milk

1 large egg

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare Croissants: Slice each croissant in half lengthwise without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket for the filling.

Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey (if using), heavy cream, milk, and egg. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Layer the Filling: Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese inside each croissant pocket. You can add more cheese for extra gooeyness if desired.

Assemble the Croissants: Arrange the filled croissants on the prepared baking sheet. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top, allowing it to soak into the croissants for a few minutes.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.
