Ingredients

1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets

1 cup all-purpose flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)

1 cup water

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

½ cup sesame seeds (white and black for color)

1 tablespoon olive oil

¼ cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (vegan option)

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1-2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Cauliflower: In a large bowl, combine the flour, water, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth to create a batter.

Coat the Cauliflower: Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off before moving to the next step.

Breadcrumb Coating: In a shallow dish, mix the panko breadcrumbs with sesame seeds. Dredge each battered cauliflower floret in the breadcrumb mix, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.

Air Fryer Preparation: Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Lightly spray the basket with cooking oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the Wings: Place the coated cauliflower wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket (you may need to do this in batches). Lightly spray the tops with oil. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.

Make the Sauce: While the wings are cooking, whisk together soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and minced ginger in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, just until warmed and combined. Remove from heat.

Combine Cauliflower and Sauce: Once the cauliflower wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the sauce over them and gently toss to coat evenly.

Serve: Plate the sesame cauliflower wings and garnish with sliced green onions. Enjoy them hot as an appetizer or snack!
